These are prayers my grandmother taught me as a child.
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray Thee Lord, my soul to take.
Father, we thank Thee for the night,
And for the blessed morning light.
For rest and food and loving care,
And all that makes the world so fair.
Dear God, help us to do the things we should,
To be to others, kind and good,
In all we do and all we say,
To grow more loving every day.
(In this interval were all the "God bless-es...")
Goodnight.
Sleep tight.
Wake up bright.
In the morning light.
Goodnight.
I know they can seem mechanical when memorized. Still, what a nice memory and a great legacy from "Grandma."
This is just a blog about my thoughts, my family, my everyday life. Because I am a Christian and have ups and downs like everyone else, I hope it will encourage others to either turn to Christ for the first time, or lean on Him when times are rough. Often life is just random and funny. I started this blog after many years of writing to my church about our vacations. They began to encourage me to blog and finally I am. Thanks for reading.
