This is just a blog about my thoughts, my family, my everyday life. Because I am a Christian and have ups and downs like everyone else, I hope it will encourage others to either turn to Christ for the first time, or lean on Him when times are rough. Often life is just random and funny. I started this blog after many years of writing to my church about our vacations. They began to encourage me to blog and finally I am. Thanks for reading.

Little Windows

Sometimes God gives us little windows.  While seeing the sights, narrow your lens to the ordinary and unnoticed.  Beauty is in range, wherever you are.  Don't miss it!  Look for it!

Do you see the little dragon up high?

These houses in a row remind me of how different we all are and yet the same.

Uh, we actually ate here.

A beautiful little window!

Chicago Days 2015

We have been in Chicago for four days and are leaving in the morning.  It has been a whirlwind trip with lots happening back home, but we have been able to stay the course in spite of it all.  We thank God for His watchful care.  I will share some highlights with you, though the best ones can't be captured on camera.  If you are a 'Grammy', you know what I mean.
Matt, Jana, TJ, Addie, Levi, and Ricky

Ricky loves piano lessons.

Levi's serenade.

Dinner out.

Jana and Matt took us on a crime tour bus where we learned about the gangsters of yesteryear.
(I am a mystery and crime buff, so this was really fun.)

Harry Carey's (take me out to the ballgame) restaurant was built over the hideout of Frank Nitty.  We went into the basement to view his 'shrine'.

Frank Nitty's safe

These were tunnels that the bad guys used to escape.

This caught my eye on one of the old newspapers.

Ricky Ryan

Thomas James - TJ

This is the reason for visiting at this particular time.  We sat through a four hour recital to see this little girl.  It was worth it...and we are really good grandparents.

Sunday night walk to the park.

We stopped for tacos on the way home.

I found these guys in my bed to keep me company while I write.
